Welcome everyone! This article marks the beginning of our Holy Week series! Where instead of only posting on Sunday, as usual, there will be a new post on every significant day of Holy Week! We hope you enjoy!
What do you think of when you hear "Palm Sunday?" Some think of kids waving palm fronds at church, some think of how it's a week from Easter, and some think of its true meaning, when Jesus entered Jerusalem a week before His crucifixion.
Why does this matter? Do you really think that Jesus didn't know what was going to happen if He went to Jerusalem that Sunday? Do you think He was unaware that entering that city meant that He was going to be nailed to a cross? The answer is that He did know what was going to happen to Him. But He still followed out God's plan for Him so that YOU would be saved. How amazing is that? There is someone that loves you so much that they sacrificed their own life so that you will have a place in heaven. It's hard to grasp but it's absolutely true.
There may be times where you feel alone, but Palm Sunday (along with many other days of Holy Week) is proof that you are never alone, because there has never been a day of your life that you haven't been cared about. If Jesus thought that you weren't worth dying for, He never would've came to Jerusalem. Jesus had every opportunity to leave and save His own life, but He did what He had to do because you mean more to Him than life did.
If you ever feel like you're not appreciated or that no one has your back, just think of Palm Sunday. Think of how Jesus rode into Jerusalem knowing that His doing so would mean that He would have to experience excruciating pain, but He did it with no complaints because He knew that you would be saved because of it. Even if no one else does, Jesus loves you, and there's nothing you can do to change that.
Happy Palm Sunday everyone! We'll see you tomorrow with the next issue of our Holy Week series!
